CAVIUS makes two ranges of smoke alarms for Australian homes. The Wireless Family Range is our fully interconnected system — alarms link via radio frequency so the whole home sounds at once. The Nano Range is standalone, delivering precision detection in the world’s smallest 40mm housing. Both ranges are photoelectric and AS 3786:2014 compliant.
The Wireless Family Range links every alarm in your home via radio frequency — when one alarm detects smoke or heat, all alarms sound simultaneously. No hardwiring required for battery models. Up to 12 alarms per network. Queensland 2027 compliant.
The Nano Range operates independently — no pairing or panels required. At 40mm, it is the world’s smallest standalone smoke alarm. Ideal for individual rooms, rental properties, caravans, and design-conscious spaces where a full interconnected system is not required.

The detection chamber is sized for the photodiode — not for packaging. This calibration delivers earlier smoke detection and a reduced false alarm rate.

The software in the CAVIUS smoke alarm includes a fire detection algorithm with features similar to that found in expensive analogue detection systems

CAVIUS alarms use only the highest quality components to ensure quality, reliability, stability and to ensure products are 100% operational during their lifetime.

CAVIUS alarms have two levels of mesh screening to minimise insect and dust contamination and additional humidity protection – alleviating the potential for nuisance alarms.

Choose the Wireless Family Range if you need alarms to sound simultaneously throughout the home — this is required for Queensland compliance and is recommended for most Australian homes. Choose the Nano Range if you need standalone protection for individual rooms, a rental property, caravan, or holiday home.
Yes. All CAVIUS smoke alarms comply with Australian Standard AS 3786:2014, the national standard for smoke and heat alarms. This compliance is required for all alarms sold for residential use in Australia.
Yes. The Wireless Family Range meets Queensland’s requirement for interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms compliant with AS 3786:2014. The Nano Range is standalone and does not meet the Queensland interconnection requirement on its own.
