The CAVIUS Mains Powered Photoelectric Smoke Alarm is part of the Wireless Family Range. So, this means the alarm will connect with our battery-operated Wireless Family smoke and thermal heat alarms. The Wireless Family alarms connect to each other using innovative and automated Radio Frequency technology; when one alarm is triggered, they all sound.

The biggest benefit of of this alarm is that the alarm is powered by the mains circuit (and also includes a back-up battery).

The CAVIUS mains powered smoke alarm, also known as a ‘hardwired’ alarm, is AS3786:2014 certified; Building Code Australia compliant, and needs to be installed by a licenced electrician.

The CAVIUS Wireless Family Mains Powered Photoelectric Smoke Alarm comes with a 5 year long-life Duracell or Panasonic backup battery. The process for syncing up your Wireless Family alarms is simple and only takes 2 minutes; set all your Wireless Family alarms into ‘LEARN/LINK’ mode, press the test button on one alarm which creates a ‘Master’ – the ‘Master’ sends out a unique code to all your other alarms. When the other alarms have learnt this code, place them back into ‘NORMAL’ mode and you are ready to install.

The range of the alarms depend on the building materials and should be tested in each individual case. During our product testing of the Wireless Family, the alarms connected at a minimum of 100m in an open field and have been set up and tested successfully in a standard two level, four-bedroom home in Australia.
